Ring Size Guide

A ring should slide on without a fight, sit comfortably at the base of your finger, and take a gentle tug to come back off over the knuckle. This guide will help you find your US ring size at home — and if you'd rather have us measure, we're happy to help at the store.

Measure at home

With a strip of paper or string. Wrap a thin strip of paper — or a piece of string or dental floss — snugly around the base of the finger the ring will be worn on. Mark where the end overlaps, lay it flat, and measure that length in millimeters. That's the inside circumference; match it to the chart above.

With a ring you already own. Take a ring that fits that same finger well and measure straight across the inside of the band, from inside edge to inside edge through the center. That measurement in millimeters is the inside diameter; match it to the chart above.

Tips for an accurate fit

Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest, and make sure your hands are warm — cold fingers measure noticeably smaller.

Measure the exact finger the ring will be worn on. Sizes differ from finger to finger, and your dominant hand usually runs a little larger.

Account for your knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, the ring has to pass over it — measure both and choose a size that fits over the knuckle without being loose at the base.

Wide bands fit snugger than narrow ones. If you're choosing a wide band, many people go up about a half size for comfort.

Measure two or three times. If your readings land between sizes or keep changing, go with the measurement you get most often.
